Fuck Cancer

Fuck Cancer is a self portrait project that shows how breast cancer continues to effect my life even after remission. Having a life threatening illness like breast cancer shakes you to your core. You hear a lot about how to deal with having cancer, but there isn’t as much information about what happens after you are in remission. Dealing with the disfigurement of your body and the physical and emotional scars from treatment while simultaneously being so grateful that you are still here is so confusing. This project shows the conflicting emotions of the duality of being happy to be in remission from cancer while dealing with the, sometimes debilitating, side effects and changes to your body.
